Clunking Pullrite hitch

I have a model 2700 IRS pullrite slider hitch and have have a bad slamming on starting from a stop and turning. If going in a straight line there is not a problem. When turning, the truck moves forward and then slams hard and jerks the truck. I have contacted Pullrite and made all the suggested solutions. These solutions have had no effect on the slamming. Anyone else have this problem? I have a 2007 2500HD and a 9,500 pound Komfort 5th wheel(loaded). I have tried different speeds and the only time it will not slam is at a crawl. I have checked all the specified adjustments and bolts, all are good. Getting a little frustrated. Any help is appreciated...........

I have checked the brakes and the stop bolt on the turn table cam and the roller. I have made the adjustments as the manual suggests. It seems that it starts to slide to the rear and then the hitch bangs hard during the turn. Does not do this in a straight pull.

    Who installed the hitch?
(Can you have them go for a test ride?)

You indicated you have contacted PR...*Tech line*?

You state you "made the adjustments as the *manual* suggests".

One or the other - or both?..:@

LOTS of (happy) PR SG owners on here (me too) - have never experienced slamming or chucking on turns, stops, straight line....or "anytime". (Installed my hitch myself).

I do have a MorRyde pin box - but don't think that would help for "slamming".

Maybe someone will chime in with some additional ideas.

It may not be the hitch at all.

Have you checked the brakes on the trailer to make sure they are releasing completely?

    X-2

If you followed PRs tech line suggestions correctly - might be time
    to check for other problems.

Sounds like your "slamming" issue is more than just "chucking" - and indicates something other than hitch adjustment.

  • What was their solution?
Sounds to me like it's the stop bolt is too "open"
