Coleman Mach thermostat

1998 Jayco Designer with original thermostat. I turned it on to take the chill off after being gone this morning. It didn't click off when it reached where I set it. So I turned it back down to 50. It didn't click off. Hmmm. Played with it a bit. Now it won't turn off unless I turn it off. I'm thinking it died. Not wanting to go back to work tomorrow (I'm a teacher) unless I know I have propane heat to back up the electric.

Suggestions?

So much better control of temps vs analog

X2 one of the best ROI in the 5er, temp is far more constant with the digital.
  • I got lucky. I have a sprinkler man and a fireplace man. They'll get it. It's gonna get cold tonight and I'll need heat.

Look online or other camping supply houses.

  • Sounds like the t-stat is faulty

Easiest thing is to replace t-stat
Go to Walmart and get a battery operated Hunter Digital T-stat (and batteries)

Remove Comeman-Mach and install the Hunter

Just connect both fan speed controls wires (high & low) to 'G' terminal for now...later if wanted you can add a mini toggle switch to select fan speed but for now it will get furnace working (fan speed is for A/C unit fan)
  • can you do something like this? You may be able to use another brand you could get at Lowe's or Home Depot.
  • Can you remove the front cover and watch it as you adjust it? Maybe you can spot something.
