- hbillsmithExplorerI was going to go with a Trail Air pin box but because my truck sits so high, I've found it difficult to get my 5er to be level. Lippert confirmed for me that changing to an air enhanced pinbox would raise the trailer nose 1 or 2 inches more. Yes, I know I could mod springs etc. to raise the entire trailer, just didn't want to do that.
- TXicemanExplorer IIWHat has worked very well for us is the Trailer Saver TS3 hitch in the truck and either a Mor/Ryde pin box or a Demco Glide pin box. I will not have a nother 5er and truck without the Trailer Saver air ride hitch.
Ken - takenExplorer IIWhich Trail Air product are you actually comparing to the MorRyde? The original Trail Air and the Trail Air Tri-Glide are discontinued but are still available in from retailers. The new boxes from Lippert are the Flex Air (combines the MorRyde type rubber system with an air bag for vertical cushion) and the Air Ride (same as the old Trail Air). There is a member here with the handle crazycooter who tried the new Flex Air with VERY poor results. I'd search out his post if you are considering that box. The Air Ride (formerly called Trail Air) is ok but the Reese 5th Airborne is identical in performance but much better looking with it's guts on the inside. I had a Tri-Glide and was less than impressed with it's loose for and aft motion. No experience with the MorRyde but it has a lot of happy customers.
- netjamExplorerHad Mor-ryde and 5th Airborne. I would get the Mor-ryde. The air hitch has been a hassle. I hate having to air it up every few days. Not fun in the rain.

I've used Morride on a couple.of trailers. I love what it does. Maybe the air is that much better but I will stick with Morride. It does the job..
X2, we're on our second unit with the MORryde pinbox. We had the chance to upgrade to the Trail Air from DRV but we're happy with the ride we get with the MORryde and I'm not changing it.... But the air ride stuff has to give you a better ride.

- RustyJCExplorerI've towed my daughter and son-in-law's Mobile Suites 36TKSB3 which has the MorRyde as well as our Mobile Suites 38RSSA which has the TrailAir tri-glide with the same truck in my signature. I much prefer the TrailAir that provides both vertical and horizontal compliance.

Far from a gimmicky type of unit. Have towed with ,and without, its no gimmick. I'm sure that trail air or fifth airborne are better, but no need to discredit MorRyde as a gimmick.
To simply state they work better would have been sufficient - tsetsafExplorer IIIImho the Morryde is a gimmicky type of unit. As said above... the trailer aire or fifth airborne (my pref) are way better.
