- SkiSmuggsExplorerNothing gimmicky about rubber cushioning. My new Mor/Ryde pin box tows way smoother than the old pin box.
- hbillsmithExplorerProbably not worth mentioning but to be clear, Mor/ryde also makes a plain Jane 1621 clone that doesn't have the slip plate that most think of when saying Mor/ryde. My Wildcat came with the plain Jane one :-(

Imho the Morryde is a gimmicky type of unit. As said above... the trailer aire or fifth airborne (my pref) are way better.
Far from a gimmicky type of unit. Have towed with ,and without, its no gimmick. I'm sure that trail air or fifth airborne are better, but no need to discredit MorRyde as a gimmick.
To simply state they work better would have been sufficient
Agree with this. The Mor/Ryde does a great job of doing what it is designed to do - eliminating the fore and aft jerkiness between the fiver and the tow vehicle. I have a Hensley air ride hitch and the two components work terrifically well together. Been full timing for 2 years now with this combo and would not change to anything else.
tsetsaf obviously knows nothing about a MorRyde pinbox. What a ridiculous statement. - takenExplorer II
- hbillsmithExplorertaken: What model is your 5th Airborne? I see Reese has several available. Thanks.

My tri-glide was well greased and loose from the day I installed it. Others have had better experiences with it. My current 5th Airborne performs 100% identical to the Trail Air it replaced. I have the unique experience of comparing the two on the same trailer and can say you can not tell the difference from one to the other. I just wanted the 5th Airborne as the Trail Air wouldn't fit under my nice painted fiberglass pinbox cover. Sold the Trail Air on CL and it just about paid for my 5th Airborne. Worked out nicely...

The 5th Airborne has identical dimensions to the 1621 it replaces so that makes sense. The Trail Air you can move up inside the mounting wings to keep the rig level. The Trail Air Tri-Glide will add a couple of inches even if you raise it to it's highest adjustment.
I'll take another look. My current pinbox is Mor/Ryde's 1621 clone (not the one with rubber plates) and I've already moved up to the highest mount holes. I was looking at Trail Air and not 5th Airborne. Seeing how the pincover looks, I think I'll do some more measures. Thanks. - takenExplorer IIThe 5th Airborne has identical dimensions to the 1621 it replaces so that makes sense. The Trail Air you can move up inside the mounting wings to keep the rig level. I was going to go with a Trail Air pin box but because my truck sits so high, I've found it difficult to get my 5er to be level. Lippert confirmed for me that changing to an air enhanced pinbox would raise the trailer nose 1 or 2 inches more. Yes, I know I could mod springs etc. to raise the entire trailer, just didn't want to do that.
that's odd, I added a 5th airborne to my Lippert 1621 and once mounted my FW sat exactly like it did before with the factory pin box.
I used the same mounting holes for both pin boxes. - takenExplorer IIMy tri-glide was well greased and loose from the day I installed it. Others have had better experiences with it. The length between the bag and hinge point on the Airborn is so short it will actually give a push/pull effect. May not be noticeable but look at the design.
The flexAir from what I have read does not have a 21K raring like the TrailAire does.
If you do not keep the TriGlide greased per mfg they will become loose feeling.
My setup works very well!
