Dry pin weights are useless - and 23% of the trailer's GVWR or actual loaded weight (not empty weight) is a typical calculation for estimating pin weight. Diesel 3/4-ton trucks will hit the rear axle and/or payload max LONG before they hit the max towing numbers.
