Thanks Rob.
Ugh....that is what I feared. A larger TT is tough as we have some tight space in our driveway area. Figured FW is much more maneuverable and get get it back around our garage.
Hand on forehead, shaking head....whispering to myself "I shoulda gone with a 3500..."
I know the feeling. We started out with a 2013 Sierra 2500HD CC with the Duramax/Allison combo. Per the scales, the truck had 3,100 lbs payload left on the rear axle with the hitch, a full tank of fuel, and me in the cab. Our "mid-profile" fifth wheel isn't the heaviest on the road - but it's not the lightest, either. At 13,990 GVWR we're loaded to around 13,400 (upgraded MOR/ryde suspension, load range G tires, and a Demco Glide Ride pin box). At that weight we are consistently 3,000 - 3,200 lbs. pin weight on the scales. We had the chance to trade even for the F350 DRW and jumped at it. The combination is much more stable and I have plenty of safety margin. The 2500HD was great for our previous travel trailer, though!
