To all
This is why I posted the question.
This site has knowledge beyong compare.
I was aware of the quality and reputation of the "Ribs" and the Duravis 250. I would consider them despite their significant additional cost.
I need to talk with the tire dealer again about the Duravis 500's...we never discussed those tires...
I will not be buying for a few weeks at best so I have time for more opinions on this subject...
Thanks again for all the help...
Regards
Hmmmmmmm - WHY do you have so much faith in the Tire Dealer?
Sure sounds like a *SALES* person who has wonderful things to say about a car, truck or RV.
How many customers with "good results" does he represent?
If his customers had a failure when they were 300 or 3000 miles away,
did they come back to him - or to a more convenient tire dealer?
A different Tire Dealer may have opinions opposite of the guy you choose to believe!
Do yourself a favor!..:W

Sooooo.....Use the "search" feature -
Search the 5th wheel forum - both for the past 12 months *AND* the archives - for whatever tire BRAND you can think of.
(If you're really into reading, just use the keyword "Tires").
You will have hundreds (maybe thousands) more "replies" to your question than this thread you started!
Lots and lots of experience, results, the good-bad-ugly, and -of course- opinions.
Pick and choose who (whom?) you prefer to believe - and go for it..:C
.
mmmm...as a long time member and very frequent poster here, I am well aware of the search feature...and it's limitations...answers to my questions provided by respected members here only further illuminate the search features limitations...some of the most knowledgeable members here have never had or read of real life experiences with the Cooper tires. Two very respected members have had success with them. Neither would have shown up in a search...my apologies if my lack of knowledge and the subsequent questions offended you or wasted your time...fortunately, the most trusted members here do not share your disdain...
as to the dealer you question, how about I have dealt with them for years...they have always been fair with pricing and outstanding with service...no run a rounds when service was needed and the tires have performed as expected. I came here for additional information because in all my participation I do not recall any discussion regarding the Coopers...and we all know that tire threads abound here...
I have learned the hard way about dealers...whatever they sell...In the end, they are far more valuable to a consumer than the manufacturer...
Regards
Good answer Rick, some don't know how long some of us have been in here or know why we ask certain questions at times, knowing that we can get a quicker, more up to date answer, than looking at older post sometimes...., ie Sailun Tire information as well as me finding out about the Coopers......Live and learn, just like we did:).
