While I appreciate all the replies, the record compiled by any of the OEM ST tires speaks for itself. The fact that I was fortunate to get 30,000 miles on my China Bombs is not a testimonial to the quality of the tires...rather the fortuitousness of the owner... I will not consider for even an instant replacing the current tires with ST rated tires...
Thanks to Rattle... for another vote of confidence for the Cooper tires...
In pricing the various leaders at this time, the Coopers are at $145.00, the R500 are $180.00 and the R250's are $212.00. All prices are plus everything...I will decide in the next week or so which tire I will buy...but any additional information is welcome...

The plan is sort of retirement...4 years to go and I am looking at what should become our last trailer and truck. My current 06 Chevy 3500 Dually only has 83,000 miles on it. It is in excellent condition and has been mechanically perfect so far...I am considering spending some money on some preventive maintenance, some interior and exterior detailing and maybe an electronic surprise or two. On the trip home for Christmas last week, 580 miles from central Iowa, the truck yielded the best fuel economy to date. It took 8.5 hours to drive it with only one stop and the truck managed a hand calculated 18.1 mpg...must have been a tailwind as that is more than a .5 mpg increase from the previous best.
As for the anticipated new fiver, I will have the opportunity to purchase a more than well cared for top of the line and loaded full time rated demo coach in two years...only time and work will tell if that plan will work out...the nice thing about this coach is that the current truck has capacity for the trailer...
