I went from STs to 16" LTs on my previous 5er and I knew right then I'd never go back to STs. Those LTs were Dunlop Rover HTs on Discounts recommendation and they ran MUCH cooler and they were very stable.
Our current 5er with STs needed tires before a turkey day trip and I researched LTs again for 6 months. I didn't care about getting the most expensive or the best(XPS) or even the BS R250s. I just wanted something much better than STs which isn't at all hard to find. I was down to the Cooper HT3s or FS TransForce and I read slightly better things about the HT3s, so that's what I got. Cooper also recommended them for trailers. I couldn't be happier with them. I went from ST235/85r16 to LT 245/75R16 cuz I needed the 5er lower. The lower profile is more stable than I ever imagined and they look perfect on my 7" wide rims. Craig
