Cost of RV transport services

We are going to purchase a fifth wheel, in the 40 ft range, 2-3 axels. We plan to stay in it during working up and down the east coast. We will need to move it probably on an average of 3- 4 times a year and at an average of 800 miles each time. I see, or at least I think I am seeing that hiring someone to move it is going to run about $1.25 to $1.50 per mile. Am I close in assuming this? I think this will be cheaper then having to purchase a truck to haul the camper, because we will need a substantial truck suggestions? or advise? We are looking at a 2015 Rushmore Lincoln
  • Where on the East cost are you planning on going to? A 40' RV could be an issue North on the East cost, like MA, NH, VT, ME and perhaps in other states also. Most of the RV parks in those states are older and will have difficulty finding a spot for you to park on.
  • Local Lions club is looking at a concession trailer being built in GA. They quoted us $1.50/mile for delivery to MO. I'd think RV's would be similar.
  • I Googled RV Transport Service and got a gillion hits. Many offering free estimates.

One of the big ones is "Uship"
