Creak when reversing the fifth wheel

Many of the small components wear. You can see on this site etrailer/dexter many of the components

Probably 7,000 lb. axles I'm thinking. The GVWR is around 15,000 lbs. I think.

Your correct with the weight looking at the parts from etrailer how often do they need switching out

The plates on the shackles may last around 10,000 miles. There are two thicknesses with same bolt pattern. Thicker ones will last longer. As shown on etrailer there are ones that have lube points.
The axles should be stamped for part numbers and weight. Normally on shoulder end of axles.

Hi all happy 4th just got back to this now and just noticed I have access to grease by removing the cover see pictures can I use the red tack

Any suggestion appreciated first time I’ve done this. I will remove the dust cap and fill any ideas how much it will take thanks

JMO, but if you've not checked the wheel bearing grease, I wouldn't use the EZ Lube system. And JMO also, I can't see bangs coming from the wheel bearings being low on grease. Could be a brake issue, which is another reason to pull the wheels rather than just pumping in grease. Might need to have someone watch, and listen, while you're backing up to narrow down the location of the bang. Does it bang when you're backing up in a straight line, or more often when you're backing up at an angle?
