Curt 5th wheel hitch

It's all a matter of your pin box and hitch height. On my '06 F-350, I have the hitch set all the way down(top set of holes)to keep my trailer level. My Lippert pin box is in the middle set of holes. On your Heartland, it's almost a certainty it will be different. I would recommend the middle bolt setting on your Curt. Hook up and see how level the trailer is and make your adjustments from there. You'll want to keep at LEAST 6" of space from the top of the bedrails to the underside of your fiver when hooked up, ready to travel.

I see that several of you have Ford F250 with a Curt Q20 slider. I recently swithched over from a GM to a Ford. My 5ver is about 120 miles away from here so I can't test hook it to see if I need to adjust the hitch up or down. In the GMC 2500, I had the hitch on the lowest holes to pull level. I know the Ford sits about 1" lower than the Gm did, so I am a bit concerned I will need to raise it to haul level.

Question to you all is which set of holes do you have the Curt set at in your F250's??

Hitches made today are so much better than they were a few years ago, there's not much difference any more. Select the one you like and if its priced right, go with it!

I used Curt as an example because the topic is Curt and I mentioned the thinner 1/2" jaws. If that is bashing oh well!

No not an employee but a VERY satisfied customer. B&W in the last two trucks.

I was asked what made it safer and I think I gave good reasons why i feel it is a safer hitch.

I gave reasons for my staunch B&W support.......I have others but I was asked about safety.

Hey Bruce,

You may just need to buy a new rail kit for the new truck and have it installed. Then you could keep the SuperGlide since you have it already.

I have been using the Curt Q5 20K sliding fifthwheel hitch for three years and love it. Very secure and quiet, would recommend it.

I do like Pullrite and I am used to their hitch! I have no mechanical ability so talking about moving heads and stuff is scary to me! Lol
Reading about having to grease something with a Curt hitch and the nipples (?) breaking off doesn't help make me feel better even tho ppl have said its a wonderful hitch?

I just called Pullrite and talked with tech support! He said something to the effect that the bolts and tracks conformed to that truck that its in. So, it wouldn't fit? I may call again Monday and get another answer and this time a reason.

Hey BT,

Not sure why the SuperGlide wouldn't work in the new truck, but if it doesn't, why not go with a Super 5 hitch by PullRite? Same safe, positive locking mechanism, 4 way tilt, and backed by Pullrite.
