After I made the top post I went to the B&w site to see what made it so much safer than the other hitches. I can't find a thing.I would like to here what safty features it has that make it such a great hitch.
For one I have never heard of bed damage and B&W in the same sentence. That says a lot!
When the kingpin and hitch plates are touching the handle is closed and locked and a quick glance to see the massive 1" thick jaws are closed around the kingpin then there is no way the RV can fall to the bed!
With the jaws being so thick that if you were to have the kingpin sitting on top of the jaws you will see a huge gap between the hitch and kingpin plate. With the thinner jaws 1/2" thick like the Curt the gap between the hitch and kingpin plate is much smaller and may not be noticed in poor light and then the trouble starts.
Talk to people that have had B&W and another brand, they all will tell you the B&W is the best. My last was RBW, no comparison at all. My Dad went from RBW and he feels the same.
I never do a pull test, if you do what I said above there is no reason to do so.
Also if it matters B&W is 100% designed and made in USA.
