Has anyone used a Curt 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R20 Slider? Any Curt owners, what has been your experience?

My dad has that hitch and slider and pulls a 14k fiver with his short bed ram 3500. Absolutly no problems at all and he loves it. He has about 15k miles towing on this hitch and it has been flawless. It's just HEAVY! We have to take it apart and remove it from his truck in three pieces (head, body, slider assembly).

I've got a Curt 20K in my truck now but without the slider. I like the positive locking of the handle. Never had an issue with the trailer locking. On my last truck with a short bed I had a slider and must admit I never had to use it.

I have the Curt 20k non slider, as for the quality it is one well make hitch. I like the two piece system, it makes it easy to remove in the winter. That in turm gives me a chance to clean the parts and inspect for wear etc. I called the company on a not so important item and the customer service was excellent.

I have the 20k without slider also. Just finished putting it back on our truck for our first outing next week. The two part system not only makes on and off easier, it's easier to grease the internals with the head off as well. I think the full pivot action keeps 'chucking' to a minimum - we've never experienced any, ever.

I don't have a slider but have a Q20 and think it is well built and easy to maintain with the two piece construction. I also like the handle with the visual hook up. Solid Hitch.
