Diesels DO NOT outlast Gas Motors now a days. Simple Google Search will show you reports after reports of DIESEL and GAS motors having to have top end and or total rebuilds.
Properly maintained either trucks motor will probably outlast the owners use of the truck. (trade it in every 3-5 years)

Yep, but remove all the Ford/HI 6.0 and 6.4 diesels and the number and percentage of diesels needing repair goes WAY DOWN.
I would love to see the B10 and B50 ratings for those two engines!
Well treated gas engines will last also, I have a Bronco II with 256K, that finally need some major work.
