We too are interested in taking the tour. Do you just call ahead and get set up for a time?
If he had valid insurance at the time (we think he only had liability insurance but not even sure about that) our insurance company will then sue him personally (and maybe his insurance company?) to recover and and all costs...I can go after his insurance company to reimburse me the deductible we have to pay (again assuming his insurance was in place)... - CHV_FRKExplorerDoes your insurance ever go after his, or can you take them to court? OMG...I would total flip out. At least you guys are ok.
If you get some photos throw up a separate post for info. The insurance thing definately sucks. I still don't understand the logic behind it and your insurance goes up for a huge claim. Did the guy at least get a ticket?
I will get pics up ASAP and as far as we know the other guy got a ticket. Two other couples (strangers to us) actually stopped and left their statements with the police so I would like to thank them!
As far as beating the ?&$^@! out of the other guy? I wanted too but wife made sure I didn't... - loydtExplorerThat is TERRIBLE news!!!! I am so sorry and gald to hear you guys are ok!! I would be enraged if somebody hit my truck or camper! I was just saying to DW last night how lucky we are to have made the 4500 plus mile trip we just took and have no issues, none whatsoever!!!
I went to the Jayco factory for a few tiny issues, which they did fix, but mainly just to see the place. It was awesome to see this place. It will make you very proud that you purchased a Jayco product. The tour was awesome and I got to get a glimpse of a few new items that will soon be out!!
How other manufacturers are still in business is beyond me. They were runnng the Eagle line through the 5th wheel plant while we were there. They usually produce 15 a day but are down to 12 or so due to the economy. Not bad considering some of the manufacturers are closing!! - CHV_FRKExplorerOMG...I would total flip out. On our way back from the west side of Michigan on Sunday (07/06) we were about 20 miles from home on the local freeway when all of a sudden the wife hears brakes squealing and less than 5 seconds later a car spins out of control and slams into the driver's side door of our truck, proceeds to bounce down along the truck, hits the front edge of the Designer and nicks the back of the Designer...driver of the other car says he was cut off by someone else...I don't believe that and think he came up on us, saw we were going slower because of towing, changed lanes and all of a sudden saw a car in that lane...anyways both wife and I are fine but the truck had ~ $5,400 in damage and not sure about how much damage to the Designer (dealer subsequently told me the frame was fine so that calmed me down a bit)...amazing how the truck took a direct hit from a car (small by the way) going 60+ mph and the truck hardly moved...if they had hit the Designer instead might of been a different story as the possibility of rolling might of happened...sad thing here is in Michigan everyone has no-fault insurance which means for us is that even though we were not at fault we still have to make a claim on our own insurance (and pay any deductibles) for the repair of the truck and the Designer...
Has not been fun having no truck and no Designer to do anything with...all plans have been cancelled until...may get the truck back by the end of next week...not sure when the Designer will come back...
Hope everyone else is doing fine...

Loydt: Cruz said we're 13'2". I'll try to measure today to confirm.....
That measurement will be different when you lift the trailer !!
The brochure states a height (when level) of 157" (13' 1") with the Factory installed 2nd A/C. When you lift the MorRyde suspension, this adds "about" 1 3/4" to that figure. So rounding up it could be 13'3".
Because of this, I chose to install a low profile 2nd A/C that puts me about 6" inches lower ... I actually measure in at about 154" (12'10") with my setup.
Now, as CHV_FRK eluded to, it depends on how the set up is on the truck. If you're a "little" nose high, what would that add? 1" ... 2" or more?
IMHO it's best to measure your setup to be sure.

Just cleaned the roof for the first time. Very interesting! Very slippery! All loose dirt came up easily with Spic-N-Span and Murphy's Oil Soap combo. However -- olive green streaks leading from both ACs did not come up! What is that and how do we care for it?
