- cruzExplorerWell just got back from an interesting weekend.
First the fridge didn't want to get cold. Even after overnight the first night it hung in at 41 degrees. By evening it was finally down to 35, but seemed to fluctuate. Ice Cream in the freezer didn't get hard ... until of course this morning as we packed up to come home it was hard as a rock !! :h Ran it on LP most of the weekend since it seems to keep it colder colder. But that causes our pantry to get very warm.
Then the main A/C (15K) wouldn't keep up. Best we could get it during the day was 85 degrees. (103 outside). Had all the blinds closed and both A/C's running. Nice and cold in the Bdrm and Bath, but L/R was 85!! (I decided NOT to order the unit with Dual Pane windows. :S ) I'm installing Slide Toppers next weekend ... these should help.
Rear electric jacks wouldn't come down. I ended up trying to crank them manually while DW hit the switch. After a few try's they broke free and seem to work fine now. Looked for a place to lube them, but didn't see anything !?!
Taking it in for some warranty work in a few weeks ... I'll just add these to the list.

I put the JT's in front, but haven't put them in back yet. One of these days I need to call the mfg and figure out how to do it. The only brace I see in back that I can tie into seems WAY TOO flimsy !! Might need to add another cross brace..?!?
Yes, they're supposed to be "off-angle" a bit ... - CHV_FRKExplorerFrom what I can tell they are supposed to be off-angle to triangulate the scissor legs. I just haven't had a chance to really check under my unit... It's pouring outside.
- whs9841ExplorerAdding on to CHV_FRK's question, can you mount the JT's onto the stabilizers in the back if they are at a 45 degree angle to the frame (that's how they are on my 2008 Jayco Eagle).
- CHV_FRKExplorerHas anyone here installed JT stabilizers. I'd like to see some pics of the mounting to the frame. Most importantly in the back.

For those of you that have the generator built-in to your Designer:
You are plugged in to only 30A electrical but you need more power to run things at certain times...have you ever just flipped on the generator (without unplugging from electric) and run what you needed then turned the generator off? I'm assuming the automatic transfer switch inside will change to the geenerator power when it is turned on (since this would be producing more power thatn the 30A) and then switch back to electrical after turning off the generator...anyone every have to do this yet?
You definitely can do that. I actually called Jayco and asked them the same question since my dealer said that it would damage the transfer switch. When they called me back (pretty quickly I might add) they said that turning the generator on while plugged into shore power would not be a problem at all. Besides the comment about the AC (which you need to turn off for a couple of minutes before turning on because your AC can not turn on under high pressure) is you need to wait several seconds after your get your generator running before you can assume the switch has transferred over. I am not sure how long but I would guess at least 30 seconds or so. - M_GO_BLUE1ExplorerFinally getting our truck back tonight (Wednesday) after 3 1/2 weeks of getting it repaired after the $#@!*&^ who hit us! The parts for the Designer have not come in yet (blame the insurance company for dragging their arses :S ) so will pick up the Designer tomorrow night and will take back in when the parts come in...
:B - loydtExplorerYes, the transfer switch will default over to genny power if the genny is running. I would suggest that yourn turn off your a/c's before doing so. You could damage the compressor with a power switch.
Is about time somebody put a post here!!!!!!!!! - M_GO_BLUE1ExplorerFor those of you that have the generator built-in to your Designer:
