- M_GO_BLUE1ExplorerRob_fla,
You may not want to hear this but I recommend a minimum 1-ton dually to pull the 35RLTS due to the overall pin weight which is anywhere from 2400 lbs - 2600 lbs depending on the options...you won't be sorry - 3wheelinExplorerRob_flo,
We purchased our 08' rlts in November of 2008...we have been living in ours since then and i have to say...this was a GREAT choice for a fifth wheel. Been to Seattle, Boise, Phoenix and now parked in San Diego...We have owned other 5th wheels and a 2004 Discovery, but i think this unit is easily the most livable of them all. Dual pane glass is a must for us (dampens the neighbors noise)and we use the washer/dryer combo exclusively (never been to a laundrymat). We pull ours with a 2008 F-450 and it pulls beautifully.
To date, we haven't had any problems...The one thing we don't have yet is our generator (got the gen. prep), but that will come this spring.
The guys on this site are great...go back and read the entries and you'll learn everything you need to know about this unit (that's how we made our decision). Good luck with your purchase...;) - TravlingmanExplorer IIRob,
If you opt for the washer/dryer, you will loose alot of valuable storage space, especially if full timing. Are you planning on doing alot of boondocking or staying in campgrounds with no hookups? If so, a genny would be worth while. If you are going to be staying in campgrounds with hookups, you would rarely use. And again, you will be loosing storage space if you get a genny. We are looking at getting a portable genny, but, can't really justify as we would only use it rarely. - HoopsExplorerRob_Fla. the polar pkg is for the new 2009 option.
- whporwilExplorerMinneapolis RV show this past weekend had a 2009 35RLTS there. Asked the saleman if he had seen one with the brick option and was told he didn't know it was available. I then asked about the warped door I have on mine and was directed to there service advisor who happened to be there. No big deal I see them all the time he said. Funny thing is when I posted this problem here, not one person responded to having seen it. Some things never change.
AL - loydtExplorerI advise every person to stay away from an LP generator. Been there, done that!
- loydtExplorerI second the comment on the 2nd ac in bedroom. Your dealer can easily install this for you. We have had very few problems with ours. Same with all the Jayco units we have owned (this is 3rd). We have pulled this one across the country and did not have a single issue!
BTW, the bldg is complete and I will email Blue pics shortly so he can post. I am EXHAUSTED! - M_GO_BLUE1ExplorerWe passed on the washer/dryer as we did think it was worth it...we figured if we had to do laundry we want to do it all at once, hence we figured stopping at a laundromat would work for us...
We opted for the generator on our RLTS and have the Onan 5500W Marquis Gold gas generator and would not be without it now due to the convenience it brings...as I said ours is gas (avoid an LP generator) and would advise you to also get a gas (or diesel) generator and make sure it is at least a 5500W, which is more than enough to run 2 A/C's and whatever else you choose to run at the same time...the future for us will bring the 2nd A/C unit in the bedroom... - CHV_FRKExplorer

Pulled the inside cover off and found 3 of the 4 long bolts that hold the A/C down to the inside bracket were so loose they weren't even making contact to the bracket !!

I think I posted something about that a while back in the summer. I'm pretty sure it was from settling or loosening b/c I had checked these 6 months prior while I was trying to figure out how to change the thermostat.
BTW...At least that was all your leak was. That's pretty good!
On the washer/dryer... I think I would just install it later. The Drawer's behind the door will slide out and you can probably put them in the closet area. At least that was my thought. And the plumbing is already roughed in. I wouldn't make it a deal breaker. Electrical is also a breeze from that location.
Dana - Rob_FlaExplorerSorry guys but one more question, I saw some earler posts about the "Polar Package". I do not see it on the option list, is it standard on the 08 Designer? I do not remember if the one we are looking at has the "Polar Package" sticker by the door.
