Diesel generator for 5th wheels?

I have not had an issue myself. The local Cummins dealer told me this. My biggest concern was the temperature limits. I was not as worried about the elevation. To tell the truth I haven't even used it yet as it is only 85% installed.

I bought the onan 5500 gold lp generator package on a new montana 3700rl 2013 from Pete's RV in Indiana (also Vermont) last September. The list price on the Montana invoice was $5400 I paid just a little over half that and got about 40-45 % 0ff the total price for the camper. My local dealer couldn't come within $20,000. They also deliver for so much per mile. I elected to pick up (850 odd miles one way ). That way I was sure all the kinks were out before money changed hands. This could be an issue - we will more than likely to camp in areas where overnight, the temperature will fall to below zero.

I bought mine through this website. They must have stopped selling them. If you go to the Generac website and click on where to buy them it lists mostly RV dealers for the one I bought: http://www.generac.com/RV/Propane/Products/QuietPact_40LP/

Just to put a different log into the fire, if you don't mind the weight & expense of a genny another option would be to add battery capacity, install a good sized inverter/charger & carry a portable genny to charge that system as needed.

At a flick of a switch silent AC power is available whenever it is needed.

Check around for price. 6200 sounds high.
