Yeah, lets go back to the simple times. No on-demand 12v water pump, no DSI on any propane appliance, or even an automatic thermostat for the roof A/C. I've had all those simpler setups before, no thanks. Then on our tow vehicles maybe no auto transmission, maybe no starter motor but a hand crank for the Duramax. Just joking, electric awnings have their good points and bad points. But in reality, they are kind of the outgrowth of another change, taller fifth wheels that otherwise require ladders in order to operate a manual awning.

Yep in and out is a great feature, to bad they can't build them to take more than a 10 mph breeze with out flopping around. If they did I would go back to one.

You have to remove the cover on the control box to see the DIP switch if It has one. But if it has a wind sensor switch it will be on the outside of the control box. My control box is right above the entrance door.

Thanks for the inputs guys. Othertonka, I will try the DIP Sw adjustment and use a blow dryer or something on the wind sensor to see if it activates.

Just because it is electric does not mean it is automatic, just saying.

On my Dometic awning there is a switch on the control box that shuts the wind function to OFF. Do you have that switch and is it off?
Also inside that box there is a set of DIP switches that can be changed to set what wind speed you want it to activate. Here is a chart to show the position of the DIP switch to get the speed you are looking for. D = switch should be Down. U= switch should Be UP. use a ball point pen or a paper clip to set the DIP switch

On edit, the formatting for switch positions is not working for me.
the first column is 1, second column is 2 and so on.
