Draining Freshwater tank

I need to update my signature but my brand new Keystone ultra lite 33 foot 5ver is getting ready for its maiden voyage.

Question my TTrailer has a large drain valve and my new Keystone has a valve and very small drain , its about the size of a pencil coming out and its been a hour and i'm only down I quarter.

am I missing something or why would they make it so small. inch pipe to a valve and then reduced to "pee stream".
  • Same hear I pull it when we are leaving to head home , or just let it go in the drive way and have a beer or 2 or 3 it does take awhile lol
  • My fresh water tank has two 3/4 inch fittings. One was for drain, the other for the water pump feed. I joined them together and ran both drain and feed off the common pipe. Things happen way faster now.

If you want, any decent plastics shop can plastic weld any size fitting in there you want. I did that with my last camper. You just need to take the tank to them.
  • We usualy dont have a lot of water left in the tank by the time the weekend is over. I just open the valve when I leave the campground and the tank is usually empty by the time we reach town 2 miles away.

I have never seen a 1.5 or 2"fresh water drain on any trailer. Out of curiosity does anyone happen to have a photo of this?

I am sure someone will yell about it but I do the same thing, open it up as I am leaving the campground.
  • mine has the small drain also wish it did have the larger drain but oh well such is life when we are done camping and headed home i just open it up and let it drain while going down the road
