7 years....no "fogging up", no condensate, no repairs, no issues. Again, I've had both, if nothing else, there IS a difference in noise coming out of my 5er being dampened and noise coming from outside in is dampened to some extent...
oh, and as far as paying extra....I purchased my 06' 5er brand new off the lot late 07', unit was discounted substantially...don't feel I was charged "that much" for the dual pane windows....if anything at all for that matter
Ditto what NC hauler said (above) - 7 years also.
Have also had both - would never "go back".
If you (the OP) are worried about weight - don't put so much 'treasure' in your storage compts!.:C
The added cost (ordered trailer) was very minimal - negotiate!.:S
