Excellent replies above. I have a B&W Companion 5th Wheel hitch and it weighs 200lbs, 70 lbs for the head and 130 lbs for the base. Another thing to consider is that with a 6 1/2 foot bed, depending how the nose of the trailer is made, you may need a slider hitch so that the corners of the trailer doesn't hit the truck cab during sharp turns. They make manual and automatic slider hitches. I have an 8 foot bed so it's not an issue for me. Three things to remember about a truck pulling a camper: 1. It must be able to carry the weight within it's payload ratings, 2. It must be able to pull the camper weight within it's towing ratings, 3. It must be able to stop the camper safely. Carry it; pull it and stop it. Most RV and Truck salesman will tell you anything to buy their product, so do your own homework. Most RV salesman will tell you a 1/2 ton truck will pull their biggest trailer; and the truck salesman will tell you any truck on his lot will pull any trailer. Most don't have a clue what it takes to safely pull a camper - remember its better to have too much truck than not enough truck. Good luck.
