Let her drive. Start in an open parking lot so she can get the feel for turning, then travel some back roads. If she WANTS to, she will! And she'll be GOOD at it.
I insisted my wife learn how to drive, hitch, unhitch, set-up, tear down, back-up, and park all our campers and tow vehicles, and cars, and lawn mower, and tractor, and everything! IN THE EVENT I BECOME INCAPACITATED I WANT THE ASSURANCE SHE CAN ALWAYS MAKE IT BACK HOME, that's she's independent of me! I just never know what COULD happen (to me). One whack of the head on that slide-out and I could be "out" for months! I KNOW she can get the entire rig back home and safe!
Let her drive! As much as she wants, under any conditions she wants! Be glad she wants to. Far too many spouses don't want to. I feel for the primary driver in the event an emergency were to happen!
