Our 2006 and Kodiak/Carlisle setup worked fine with the Carlisle adapter (HBA-CAM) for Ford integrated controllers.
Sticking calipers? Set too aggressive? It might be the trailer brakes are taking too much of the braking percentage.
Hi, did you have a Ford, if so why did you have the HBA-CAM installed. All the info I have says that the 2006 ford were compatible with Hydraulic brake actuators. Did you have electric over hydraulic brakes or shoe?

Bob,
The HBA-CAM module came standard on the 5th wheel along with the HBA16 actuator so it could adapt to any truck. Yes we have the electric over hydraulic disk.
As I understand - because the 2006 Ford Integrated Controller did not have the selection for electric vs electric over hydraulic like the newer ones have, the HBA-CAM is required to prevent the Ford "trailer disconnect" alarm or "trailer fault" alarm from actuating because it cannot find end resistance from the magnets when using the Carlisle disk brake actuator. We now run a 2014 Ford, and didn't have to change anything on the trailer. Our 2014 still runs through the HBA-CAM, even though it may not need it.
