GY is a great tire however it is at least $100 per tire more than the Sailun without any added benefit other than damage protection if there is a blow out. I already have insurance I don't need to pay for it twice via an expensive set of tires.
I have said this all along, don't want to pay for insurance on a tire that is arguably inferior compared to the Sailun's.
The Goodyear Endurance may be a great alternative in many applications in the E rated ST tire, if they prove themselves . Jury is still out on them.
I like to buy American as much as anyone , but Goodyear needs to wake up, and get competitive on prices. My last set before the Sailuns were the G614's . I can't imagine how many sales Goodyear is losing to the Sailuns.
Comparing prices on the two , Size 235/85/16. These prices are from Simpletire today. Goodyear G614's 289.99, Sailun S637 138.93 a difference of 151.06 or a difference of 604.24 for a set of four. IMO the price difference is insane .
Cummins12V98 , I know you insist on the Goodyear tire, and push them whenever possible. I too could push the G614's that I previously owned , had no issues with them, but I can't in good conscience, with such a high price tag compared to arguably an inferior tire to the Sailun.
As you say they have had a stellar record since mid 2007, but you can still find issues since then.
