Excel Credit- RV Financing

Has anyone worked with or heard of Excel Credit for financing RVs? We are selling our fifth wheel and the buyer is working with Excel Credit over the internet.
  • Already looked them up. Looking for input/reputation. They want our title before we get their money.
  • I would see if they could escrow the money with a third party before handing over the title. That should not be a problem if they are legit.
  • WHOOPS! Essex Credit is the front for Bank of the West. I have no knowledge of Excel. The additional info about closing in a bank is still accurate. Sorry for the mistake. I didn't want to delete all the content of the post just to have you wondering what I wanted to take back. Sorry for the confusion.

    Original Post:
We used Excel for a refi. The actual loan is from Bank Of The West, a legitimate bank. Personally, I like to close private transfers at my bank. If you're near a Bank of the West, that would make sense too. All parties are a little more comfortable receiving a cashier's check directly from a banker as well as waiting for a title when the banker sees the rest of the paperwork is in order.
  • Another approach might be to check with a local title company as they would be familiar with such closing procedures and might be willing to provide their services even though an RV instead of a home is involved in this case. They can handle the escrow accounts, receipt of title (deed), etc. in a manner that should keep both you and Excel Credit feeling warm and fuzzy throughout the closing process.
