Unfortunate situation, Happy that occupants are OK, Sorry for their experience.
I hope that they will notify both the RV manufacturer and the fireplace manufacturer of the problem.
Posting provides 2 warnings for ALL:
1. Check your electric fireplace for same conditions.
2. Check your extinguishers on a regular basis. Pressure is important, but if the powder has had a chance to compact it will not help you when you need it. Need to keep it Loose and powdery like your flour.
This is the second post in response to the original post, where fire extinguishers and their care is bought up! Then "Houston Remodler" posted about throwing flamable powders on a fire! The subsequent responses were only to correct misinformation that was presented here, I do not know why you have a problem when someone tries to correct misinformation? I thought that was what this blog was about exchanging ideas and pointing out misinformation when it exists. The fact the OP pointed out there may be a problem with fireplace remotes indicates there might be others who could have a similar problem. Then someone recomends throwing flamable products at a fire, and we are not supposed to point that out? IMHO the post was about a fire hazard, which all have commented on!
