The big difference on the 5th wheel trailer and a bumper pull, it the pin weight is over the rear axle. The travel trailer, has the pin weight 3 or 4 feet behind the ear axle of the truck. Any side movement on the trailer now has a nice long lever arm to move the rear end of the truck. Increasing tongue weight on the travel trailer will make it more stable, but then you have to make sure you are not over the trucks rear axle rating.
