- frankwpExplorerMost real leather has a plastic coating on it that give it color, uniformity and easy cleanability. Aniline dyed leather is the real nice stuff. It's soft and breaths well so you don't get sweaty. But it will also absorb stains & spill so you gotta be a lot more careful with it

I would rather have pleather than "leather". Leather is usually the bonded crud and does not hold up well.
We have a dog and the fabric hold up fine.

While never having had leather in our fiver and only at home, I would have to agree on the pleather. We too have dogs and have had pleather in our current and last RV and it holds up very well with dogs. - TXicemanExplorer III would rather have pleather than "leather". Ken - lillyputzExplorer III order fabric furniture with matching head board. It was a up grade over the phony leather. I would order the fabric again.
Lillyputz - FlatBrokeExplorer IICLOTH! Sick to death of leather! Now it's turning to fall I have to put up with cold leather chairs in our stick home. Every try to price out a truck with the fancy interior options with cloth interior? Can't be done. What try he!! Is up with that?
- Bamaman11ExplorerOne of the problems with changing furniture is getting furniture through the smaller doors of RV's. You can usually get recliners thru the doors, but a couch is another issue.
If I was going to change out chairs/recliners, it'd be to a premium brand like Hancock & Moore or Barcolounger--not a low quality Lazy Boy. And a wall hugger recliner like those in my fifth wheel are preferable to regular recliners. - richfaaExplorer

Yeah, lets clarify leather. Is it really leather, bonded leather, or vinyl. Most likely IF it is leather it is bonded leather which means it will look like******in a few years. It starts to crack and separate. IF you have to pay extra for it I would skip it. jmho. Phillip
he is absolutely correct.. Do the homework. - greg_gurdExplorerThanks for all the replies. Our last 5th we bought used and the former owners had put real leather Lazy Boy chairs in and that spoiled us forever. We now have a Cardinal with Lazy Boy chairs but they have a leather look cloth, it's okay but would rather have the real thing or cloth. Seems like everything we look at now has (pleather) what they say is leather but feels like a rubber glove and I don't think I could live with that. We'll keep looking.
- Cummins12V98Explorer IIII would order a RV without furniture and buy your own.
The Flexsteel that was a option on out 2002 Avion Platinum is actual leather and is in still beautiful shape. When we traded the Avion for our current MS in 2011 we swapped furniture and paid the Dealer $500 to do the trade after we made our best deal. The Couch was fabric and the two chairs were who knows what that were OE in the MS. - laknoxNomad

Are there any 5ths made today with fabric or real leather furniture any more or could you order with no sofa and chairs and put our own in?
Personally, I'm not a fan of either leather or vinyl. These damn manufacturers need spend a summer in the SW or the South in the summer and experience some serious swamp @ss. They'd change their tune in a hurry. Problem is that most of them don't offer cloth as an option.
