Featherlite 4926 Car Trailer Conversion

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share the work I have been doing on our new Featherlite 4926 car trailer. There are still lots of things to get done, and I was hoping to get some feedback from everyone's experiences with some of these items. All suggestions and comments are welcome!

Our race car :)

C-Tech awesome aluminum cabinets and laptop/work bench:

So these are the things I'm planning to work on next, and would love to hear for the members on these forums regarding quality, usability, and alternative options. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

- Happijac Double Power Bunk Bed, in aluminum frame like such:

- Ultra Low Profile Air Conditioners-Coleman Mach 8 - 8" Tall
Electric Heat Element for Coleman Mach 8 Ac & Heat Pump

- Blazinbelltech Wall Mount Folding Dinette/Sleeper <--- These look at bit uncomfortable are there any better quality? I really like the way these are stowed and laid out.

- A removable table for the dinette setup above, this is just a sample I'm open to any recommendations

- An Onan generator.

I have been looking at portable generators, but my goal is to have something installed in the trailer. Initially I was thinking that perhaps I could install something on the tongue of the trailer, but given the V-Nose shape of the trailer, that seems like is going to be impossible unless is elevated higher than the jack. The other location that would have been possible is in one of the sides of the V-Nose, but I'm not sure we have enough space given that we installed the cabinets. I'm still trying to figure this one out.

Mod Edit: Adjusted photo to comply with the 640 pixel guidelines. When posting pictures in the future please use the Yellow Image icon in the tool bar, paste your photos URL link in the appropriate box and type in 640 in the width box (leave height blank). Thanks
  • The happy jack set up is nice but you could do a different set up where the lower level is opposing couches and then put a table in between. The blazenbell tech dinette is fine for it intended purposes if you don't go with the happyjack set up I suggested. The RV style dinette is nice but it wont fold out to the way. The A/C is great, don't expect the heat pump to be effective below 40F, they just aren't. Onan 5500 is great, 4000 would probably meet you needs as well
  • Nice trailer. Man Fall-line has a beautiful shop. I was considering doing something similar as an alternative to buying from livinlite to replace my wood/steel build I did a few years ago. Still cant decide what I want haha.

    Thank you!

I'm still debating if I should do the couches on the lower level, my concern is the drop off on floor at the end of the trailer, and the sun hitting the setup directly if I leave the tail gate open on the trailer.

What do people usually install for heating purposes on these trailers?
  • I have had dreams of converting a Featherlite for a couple years. My current TH has the wall mount sleeper/dinette. If I were to do it I would just get a couple recliners. Put them under the bed during the day when it it up. It would make for more roominess.

Good Luck, I will be watching.
  • Propane with 12v blower for heat, it can keep it toasty. Many RV propane heaters to choose from.
  • Does anyone if the Happijac will require any additional bracing?
  • Umm... trailer, what trailer? I'm stuck on the shop and the cars in it. I totally dig the Evo.
  • My suggestion-
Put some chairs in the trailer, load it with tools/air compressor..., add water and fuel tanks, add a satellite dish, tv and sound, full length power awning, exterior lights, and buy a motor home to sleep in.

When you arrive- start the gennie on the moho, plug the trailer into the motorhome, unload the car, and power out the awning.
  • So I was driving home from work today and saw your car sitting outside A&L. Rough day at the track?
