Lippert may approve it, but I'd want it in writing and see where they stand "IF" something happens to the frame, delam, or structural issues down the road....again, so simple a caveman could do it...Call the manufacturer and ask them...how hard is that? How much is it going to cost you?...then you have your answer from the REAL experts. Odds are, they know more about what they manufacture than we know about what they manufacture...and though I too am an Engineer, I'll let THEM make the call on whether to use a GN with THEIR 5er's or not...pretty simple.
