Fifth Wheel Toy Hauler Heights

I'm looking to buy a fifth wheel toy hauler with at least a 12' box to fit a ranger crew. My problem is my storage at home is only 12'6" tall. Are there any manufactures that are usually not as tall? Or is there anything you can do to the suspension to lower the max height any? Hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance.

  • Mine is specd at 12'9". Heighest point is AC. Removing the AC (if that is an option) would reduce the height by at least a foot.
  • Most Work & Plays are 11'6" tall according to the website. That seems about right and I'd say close enough to be sure under 12'6" for you. As for roll cage height, I have no clue because we're quad people. But my garage is 7' high inside. The entrance is about 78" high because the bug screen at the top. If you took that out, you should be able to use almost all the 7' if that helps.
  • The car hauler style toy haulers with living quarters sit lower. In addition to Work & Play, look at Millennium, InTech, Feather Lite and Livin Lite.
  • Yeah, as others have said, it seems doubtful with a 5'er TH. Maybe a bumper pull TH ...
  • the issue is the necessary height to clear roll cages, etc. and still be under beds/lofts. There may be a TH out there that doesn't have a loft/rear bed but I don't know who makes it. I see some really like the Work & Play and they're pretty low, don't know if they make a fifth wheel. Just the nature of a fifth wheel makes it pretty tall, even a non-TH fiver is tall.
  • Makes sense to ask, aint going to happen in real life! Remember, if you were to actually lower a trailer, it would also reduce ground clearence, and nose to truck bed clearence.
