- Poppy_s_5th_WheExplorerI wish ours had one and have considered adding one but probably won't. Our's doesn't have an a/c in our bedroom either and I wish we had that too! We're on our last unit so we probably won't get the opportunity to have either.

We Had one in our Montana and loved it. We have one in our Mobile Suite and love it. No one mentioned the fact that you don't have to fasten them down when you want to move. Some people love to suffer and other people enjoy a little comfort.
Personally I don't leave a good home to go freeze in a camper. If you want to talk about something stupid it is our garbage disposal. Why would anyone want to mulch up garbage and put into your grey tank when you can walk the garbage over to the dumpster and get the much needed exercise at the same time.
Back to Fireplace nothing short of fantastic.
All your points were good and made sense:) - Gib3633ExplorerWe Had one in our Montana and loved it. We have one in our Mobile Suite and love it. Come on Bumpy...I watch TV programs on my TV...I don't watch a "crackling fire" and listen to Christmas carols unless it's Thanksgiving to Christmas....We get it, you don't like them...I have two 1500 watt ceramic heaters that I paid about $15 each for, but they don't do what the fireplace does. ..you don't like them, they're a waste, they're a joke, but it appears the MAJORITY in here LIKE them....So now that we understand you have $17 ceramic heaters, can the rest of us, and it appears MOST of the posters, talk about WHY we like them:
I think a lot of the "like" is because people spent $500 as an option for them and have to like them. I can see taking up the room in a 38 ft RV if desired but not in a small unit.
bumpy
We love ours too for all the same reasons and because we don't pay for electricity.
Those who prefer the extra storage space instead of a fireplace now have a place to store their space heaters.
Win-win.

Win-win. - NC_HaulerExplorerGuess one had to have a really small 5er for the below dimension electric fireplace to take up "a lot of space":h
Dimensions (inches): 26 1/4 Width, 22 1/4 Height, 11 3/8 in Deep ( 12 7/8 in deep with grill)
I've got so much room in my 5er with all the cabinets I'm not using, enough room in the basement to overload my 5er...just don't see the "wasted space" issue, but again, guess one has to have a small 5er with the electric fireplace in it....I could see it replaced with 2 drawers and that's about it......This reasoning seems flawed, unless someone needs every ounce of space they can stick something into... - richfaaExplorerThey do take the chill off and work maybe as well as any 1500 watt space heater. We did not have one in the 06 3400 Montana and I enjoyed the extra storage space. We do have one in the 13 3402 Big Sky and it is a waste of space but it is pretty to look at. We had a space heater in the 06 and it was always in the way. We do use it on those chilly Florida mornings and it does warm up the rear of the RV. It sure was not worth the $$$ just to take the chill off the Rv..... But it is only money///////

So it's a $500 option.:E..funny, I purchased my 5er brand new in late 07...5er is an 06'...it listed the fireplace as a $150 option on the MSRP ....In fact, due to the 5er being on the lot for almost a year and a half before i purchased it, over $30,000 came off sticker...so I feel mine must have been free....
I agree, I think they would take up too much space in a small TT or 5er, but I've never seen a fireplace in a small TT or 5er, mine is 37' inside length...
anyway, if you want to think most like theirs because it "cost so much", that they have to is silly, but believe what you want to if it makes you feel better...with you don't like them because you don't have one...what's good for the goose is good for the gander:) - BumpyroadExplorer
