First 5th Wheel--Bad Braking???
Hi, I just got my first 5th wheel and am a bit concerned about the braking. It weighs 12,500 pounds and has a 2500 pound pin weight. I am pulling it with my Ram 3500 which has a 4,200 pound max pay...

So here is the deal with my brakes....I got them adjusted and that still did not help. So I got the unit back to the dealer and they said they pulled the wheels off and found that the magnets had scarred the hubs. I think that is how they described it. They said they had to replace both the backplates and the hubs. It will be a couple of weeks.
What would cause that to happen on a brand new camper?
I assume this is what caused the weak braking...??? And it still was very weak driving it up there today. The brakes made almost no difference when applied.
I am very happy I never had to make any sudden stops or decclerations on the highway. I am pretty confident I would not have been able to stop fast enough to avoid a collision.
