DH is wanting to do something to help make our bed better. He is saying the queen mattress that came with the 5er is too soft. I read where the foam toppers are hot. Is that true or how about the total thick foam mattress(6-10 inches) sure don't need extra heat seeing I have my own heater these days besides it gets pretty dang hot here in SC. Any feed back from those of you that have done something would be appreciated.

We have a 4" mattress topper that made our factory mattress a lot better but it slides on the mattress. The newer ones are a lot cooler. It's normally listed as a feature. Getting ready to bring the mattress topper home for the quest room and just buy a memory foam mattress for the camper. That's our experience.

Adding band aids is not going to cure the basic problem. Cheap mattress. Save your money and buy a quality mattress and have it installed.

Our queen mattress was giving us back pain so we purchased a 2 inch memory foam topper. We couldn't be happier with the topper. It has made our 6" mattress so much better. I ordered it through Amazon about 6 years ago and it has held up very well.

my wife got us a perfect harmony (i think), from camping world. our problem was, however our bed was to firm, just not comfortable.

i don't know what it is, but since the addition of that topper, the camper is my favorite place to sleep.

very comfortable.

Don't they make toppers with gel? Our memory foam mattress from www.bedinabox.com (highly recommended) has gel which keeps it much cooler. We got the 11" deep mattress which is firmer. Love it!!

On our old TT, we added the topper which I think is about 2-2 1/2 inches, then moved it the 5er. We haven't had a problem with it being hot or slippery. Only problem is we sleep better on it than at home, so now we need to make a change for the one in the house.

We purchased an 8" Spa Sensations Memory Foam ($200)from Walmart and put it our 5'er. It sleeps better than our TempurPedic that we have at home.

As snowbirds, we spend five or six months at a time in our 5th wheel, so, I realize our circumstances may be different than yours. We tried both a 2 inch and than a four inch foam topper, and each was a definite improvement over the deluxe mattress that came with the RV. However, comfort only came after purchasing a Supreme Euro Top - Foam by Denver Mattress.Clicky for mattress
