- Traveler_IIExplorerWe have a 2014 F350 with the RV prep, but we wanted an air hitch. It's worked great for the last two years, we use it a lot and so far it's been working out just fine.

I took delivery of my 2016 F-350 with RV prep pkg. Then ordered and installed the Reese adaptor plate that matches up with the Reese 18K slider. Everything fits like a glove and is very tight...my question is, does anyone have the same system described, and how do you like it ?
Thanks !
To answer your question, first I assume you are talking about the Reese picture frame adapter, if so its not a bad setup. I too have the Reese 18K slider that fits conventional bed rails and the Reese picture frame which I purchased to fit my fifth wheel prep on my 2014 Ram. Only drawback is you have to install ,and remove the hitch, and frame separately .
If I was doing it today, I would have done it a little different . I would of either went to the Demco picture frame which can be installed with the hitch connected. Or I would have sold my Reese 18K ,and went with the Andersen fifth Wheel Hitch. Most likely the later. - GoPackGoExplorerI have a 2013 with the prep kit and also went to an air hitch. No problems at all.
Others have stated that Reese makes the adaptor plate that came with my Hensley hitch, but I cannot confirm. - boatsplusExplorerThanks very much, really appreciate the feedback. will see how it rolls in a couple months.
- takenExplorer IIDid you already have your Reese hitch? If so I understand the adapter. However, Reese does make a direct fit slider for the Ford factory prep that wouldn't' require an additional adapter. Not sure if you were aware of that.

Reese Elite Slider
And they are pretty proud of it too! I helped a friend of mine use the frame adapter and installed a B&W slider all for around $1100. - SkiSmuggsExplorerI already had the Reese 16K from my F150 so I got the picture frame adapter to continue using it. However, after grunting it out of the F350 last month, I now plan to get the Andersen Ultimate 3200 and sell the Reese. More clearance for my short bed F350 and less weight for this old body to wrestle with.

- GASMAN6674ExplorerI have the Reese and the picture frame adapter works well for us. I just don't remove it for now. And when I have to I have to big strong son in laws to do it :-)
