Ford F250 5th Wheel Prep Package

I have a 2016 Ford F250 I am thinking about adding the Ford 5th Wheel Prep Package. I have priced some and the prices are all over the place. Where did you find the best price? I have considered the Reese underbed mount, but it appears to me that the Ford system is better for my purpose? Would appreciate any info regarding purchasing one or the installation. Thanks.
  • I ordered my 2013 F350 with the Ford package including the Reese hitch and also the gooseneck package and have no regrets. I could have bought stuff cheaper but the convenience of everything bring installed and ready to go was worth it. Plus if I had any issues the Ford warranty covered those parts as well. Have not had any issues, love the 5 minute install and uninstall and the flat bed when I need it.
  • Order the Ford puck system and then get a B&W Companion hitch.
  • Go to this site: https://accessories.ford.com/

You can order the complete set up, pay for installation at a Ford Dealer close to you, then set up an appointment. You can get the Reese 5th wheel adapter on Amazon for about $200.
  • get the Ford in bed 7-Way plug that goes into the factory harnesses unused plug by the spare tire. Much better than the generic ones that split the bumper plug harness.

x2.... it can be dealer installed or you can easily install it yourself.
  • If you do not need the rails for tie downs (a tandem kayak) then yes.

When you order the package through Ford, it only costs $100 for installation. Well worth the price....
