Ford F350 5th wheel hitch

just bought a F350 dually diesel
it is equipped with a 5th wheel preparation package.

we will buy a 11000 lbs dry weight 5th wheel Sabre 36QBOK

as far as the hitch what should we get?
I saw price form $400 on the net till over $2000
I can understand some difference but from 1 to 5 times ?????

does it play a role in the way the tandem will be stable on the road

thanks for the help
  • The "NEW" 5th wheel prep packages are a great evolution in the hitch department as they truly offer the "flat bed" option. The one problem is that only a few hitch choices are available that actually use the feature "pucks" without also using some sort of adapter arrangement, probably the two best are the Reese Elite and the B&W Companion OEM. There may be others but those two are the ones I'm most familiar with, and I have the B&W in my truck.
  • Fifthwheels are a dream to tow. The hitch will be based on the trailer weight.:C
  • Can't go wrong with the B&W Companion set up they have made for your truck.
