OP Jeff,
You need more specific information.
I googled: ford body builders
and found Ford Truck Body Builders Advisory Service
Hover the mouse pointer over "Publications" and click "Vehicle Specifications". Then click "2016 Body Builders Vehicle Specifications Pages". Then click "F-350 Super Duty Pickup".
You will find This.
Check page 81 (11 0f 25) for F-350 DRW Styleside Pickup GVWR/Payload etc.
I see F-350 DRW Crew Cab 4x4 172.47WB 6.7L/Auto, Base Curb Weight 8200, Max Payload 5720. I don't know option weights for Ford F-350, but on Ram 3500, the difference between a stripped "Tradesman" and a loaded Longhorn/Limited is 240 lbs. So, for example, 5720 max payload - approx. options 240 = 5480.
The 5400 lb payload sticker you saw is close to this.
Check this info closely to see how this relates to your situation.
I would compare the brochure UVW of FW to the Weight Sticker of typically equipped units (look at pictures on RVTrader and others) to see how much typical options will add to weight. Then figure how the weight of your stuff will increase the pin weight. Some trailers have more cargo capacity than others, so while using GVWR is easy and more conservative, it may overstate your actual GWV.
For a 16500 GVWR FW I am looking at buying, I have found a typical unloaded pin weight increase, due to options, of 600 lbs and typical loaded pin weight increase, due to options and cargo, of 1100 lbs.
Hope this helps. Good luck. Enjoy your adventures.
