Ford's payload capacity confusion
Just ordered a new 5er and looking for a truck to pull it (21K GVWR). According to Ford's website, I should be able to get a 2016 F350 4X4 dually diesel that has a 14K GVWR with a 6460 payload capa...

With the F250/350's you get Fords "CALIMS" with ALL of RAM's Pickups and Fords F450's you get ratings backed up by SAE J2807. OP my 39TKSB3 is 21K but there is no way that can happen whirl the factory sticker says 18,0??#. After that a 6500 LP gen was added and the reality is I now have a RV that weighs 23K. I also have about 25% pin weight at around 5,500#
If you get a 350 or even a 450 with this type of weight you will be adding air bags to at least level the truck. In the pics below the first one the truck is in ALT ride height same with the second pic with the RV attached. You can see the factory air ride does a great job of keeping the truck at the proper level while loaded.
This truck with the 4:10's and the Medium duty Aisin transmission and CUMMINS engine is a great towing machine for the heavy MobileSuites.
