Frustrated

We recently had repairs to our 5th wheel completed by Camping World. The work was done quickly and all repairs where done in a professional manner. But here is the problem, I as many of you do store my sewer hose in the bumper it was there before I bought my rig in from our last camping trip. I just set up in SC and went to retrieve the hose and it was gone! I can not imagine anyone wanting a 5 year old used sewer hose but??? It is not a big deal money wise, just very frustrating, where we are staying does not have a store, so I need to find a place, worst case Wally World and buy a new one. Thanks I just needed to vent, I do not think there is any way to secure it, I guess I should be glad whoever took it replaced the bumper cap!!

The inference that CW had anything to do with the missing sewer hose is just that an inference. There doesn't appear to be any evidence that CW is in any way culpable. I can't imagine someone "stealing" a used sewer hose. The reference above stating that CW removes used sewer hoses from trades actually makes a whole lot of sense to me. I would very quickly discard a used sewer hose if I acquired on through the purchase of a previously owned RV.

It could be an honest mistake... Maybe they had to remove the hose to do their repairs and it didn't get put back in the bumper...

I definitely would ask them about it... They might even have you go down to the closest CW place and pick up a replacement???

I bet you could rig up something like this to add locking door without too much effort... This door is from TORKLIFT.com

    Wow! That is slick.

I wish I knew about that locking door before I had to keep replacing those black pop on ones that kept falling out what seemed like every week.
    Thanks for the link.
  • Or you left it the last place you used it.
    Stuff happens you know.

  • It may be a simple and inexpensive part to replace but I would STILL bring it to the attention of the Service Manager.

If you don't the thief wins and will move on to the next customer to steal from.

And there is always the possibility that if you brought it in with stuff in the tanks they most likely would have dumped both tanks "before working on it" and perhaps forgot to put it back. I have seen that policy in place in many service centers when working on any part of the RV. Just Saying.
  • I am more impressed that all work was done in a professional & timely manner. I have hd things missing after service. Caught one when I bought my HTT Upon pick up the outside range top was gone. Guy found one just like it for me. What a pal
  • After reading many of the horror stories on hear about CW and service.. consider yourself lucky . . Go buy a new one and be glad it all went well.

On a side note , I knew a guy that when he needed a small part , he would go to a dealer and walk around to see if they had what he needed on the lot... point is - It could have been anyone who took it.

Had a friend who was looking at buying a TT from CW and they said that, despite being delivered from the factory with a stinky hose, CW made a practice of removing them from all new units, then making you buy new ones. Just one more reason that I'd not deal with CW.
