FYI. Ford F150 V8

Just got back from a 500 mile trip on 101 here in Oregon. Took my F150 and my fifth wheel and wanted to share the results. Traveled 526 miles up and down the Oregon coast. Some times it rained some times it was clear and some times it was very windy Total CGVW 7850. Total trailer weight 7950lbs The truck is a 2018 Ford F150 V8 with tow package. Gas millage was 9.7 mpg. I was very pleased the way the truck handled the load. We have some pretty stiff climbs here in Oregon and I was quite pleased with the power range. Managed to maintain 55 mph (thats the speed limit here on 101 in Oregon)through all the climbs. Breaking seemed antiquate for the job. I would not hesitate to take this truck and combo cross country. JMO. I know we are always talking about TV on this forum and just thought you would be interested in the performance.

  • If I were getting an f150 I would go for the 5.0 over the Eco Boost. My son pulls a very large boat with an f150 5.0 and it does great.

I assume that is some kind of typo, just not sure where.
  • Many latest generation F-150s have over 1800 pounds payload as standard. And optionally up to over 3000 pounds.

    Check the weight numbers...

While close on his payload numbers i’m Sure he’s fine depending on what rear axle that truck has.
  • Nice set up! Glad it worked well for you.

These new trucks are very capable.

    Thanks!
