Generators for 5th wheel power

We have a 7.5 Onan and it runs at near idle with 1 AC with ample power for anything. You cannot hear it inside when the AC is running and idles when its off.Bought ours use from salvage yard with 250 hrs.

I am having trouble finding one with a 50 amp socket. I am trying to barter an aircompressor or FL350 for it. Would like one over 7000 so I can run power tools and stuff. :h

I don't have a generator setup for my 5th wheel per say but I would think the two 2KW Honda type generators would fit the bill just fine. The are easy to handle with one person. My sister has two for their Montana 5th wheel and the generators sit on opposite corners of the truck tail gate area. Then they carry gasoline and tools etc just behind the truck rear window. Good setup for their 5th wheel travels.

You will get more power from two 2KW Honda generators in parallel then you will from a single 3KW Honda setup. Of course the REMOTE Start-up for the 3KW Honda sounds kinda neat.

If it were me I add the FOLD-A-COVER folding bed cover to the truck which will hide everything in the truck when you are unhooked and help with thief situations.

This is my setup I have been using since 2008 which I moved to my new 2010 truck. Works great for my generator setup and supporting my OFF-ROAD CAMPER setup.

Our previous TT had that size AC and I ran it off one Yamaha 2400is generator. Don't know if the slightly smaller Honda can pull it, but the Yamaha can and did. I picked up a second one so we could run the microwave & other stuff as well and had to have them both ganged & running to run the newer 15,000 btu AC on our Monty. Sold the two of them a few months back when I put in solar. I picked up a Harbor Freight 4kw peak Predator as an emergency house backup and found it was quiet enough that we could use it for overnight stops at truck stops, or other places when it was hot or we couldn't open windows.

Just got my two ef2000is gen sets last night via UPS. Sold my2400is last week thinking I needed more power. Going to set them up this morning and see what's what. I did like the idea of two smaller generators (lighter). My wife is shorter and has difficulties helping me carry heavier things.

On paper, I like the Yamahas that have the burst capability. They use juice from the starter battery for about 10 or 15 seconds to help with starting the A/C. No less than 3000w, IMO. I'm also a fan of the inverter-style generators, both for noise as well as economy.
