Glamis trip.. New Ca laws?

I think the laws changed for SxS with non factory seats . In Ca you cannot ride in them correct?

I have not been there since 2010?

Also you need helmets in SxS even with seat belts and full cage?

I may be going in early Nov and want to make sure "i'm in compliance" with the states many laws...( I fled there in 2005 as a political refugee)

I sure the Glamis pass is still needed etc.

If you have current info, please share. Going to one of the washes along the R/R tracks.

Leaving the SxS home and taking the 2up factory quad instead..

Had a good time at Glamis. Got told by a Deputy Sheriff that my 2 seat Polaris quad, made for two with seat for passenger and hand bars for passenger was illegal in Ca...Even though the quad was made for 2? he said yes.Illegal.....

    WTH.....

Not a 100% on this but pretty sure the Deputy was wrong.
I agree he was most likely wrong, we see those 2 seat Polaris quads in Pismo all the time.

  • The ISDRA permits are now $35 for the weekly, if purchased in advance, $50 on site.
$150 for the season pass and is now a sticker which must be affixed to the tow vehicle.

Helmets are required on all powered vehicles 1000 cc or less, buggies being exempt.

  • Thanks guys. Glad to see the ammendment to the backseat law..Maybe I'll take the Prowler now..:)

Helmets no biggee. Gotta go get one here shortly.
  • Backseats under a roll cage are fine for 2013 models and older.
    Yes, gotta have helmets.
Yes, gotta have CA sticker or off road AZ plate.

Go to www.glamisdunes.com and get more info there.
  • Unfortunately seat modifications are now illegal and I am pretty sure helmets are required too. I also heard recently but have not confirmed that a child riding in a SxS must be able to touch the floorboard while sitting down.
