I went through the entire deal with Goodyear on a blowout of a G614. They paid $6,000 for our claim.
However, those who have filed claims need to remember that they signed a DISCLAIMER letter before they got the check. Nothing to do with warranty or being a nice manufacturer -- it was just simply business. Get the tire, pay the claim and admit no liability.
What a great company.
I now ride on Michelins. Tow Vehicle and Trailer.

The only paper I signed was AFTER I got my tires and also stated that I hadn't asked for repairs for my 5er, maybe that was the difference, I had no significant damage to my 5er..I still have the paper, and the one I signed basically stated that I was taken care of and satisfied with the service and payment for what I put a claim in for, but it also stated that I wouldn't ask for anymore payment on THIS claim, but again, I also stated I had been restituted to my satisfaction.
I wished mine hadn't happened in the first place, but evidently my tire failure was due to an issue with my 5er, AND GY is the one that pointed it out to me, BUT STILL paid for removal of 4 tires, and giving me 4 brand new tires, mounted and balanced....
I will look at several alternatives to the GY G614's when I replace the one's I have now....GY "G" rated tires "use to be", "the only game in town"...now they have some credible competition that I will be looking at along with the G614's..
bigdon, so you went from G rated tires to an "E" rated Michelin, or are you talking a different Michelin? I used Michelin RIBS when towing a Coachmen Somerset with 3 slides and a GVW of 14,000#, but it had 6,000# axles and came with "E" rated tires...I won't replace "G" rated tires on my 7,000# rated axles with "E" rated tires....just curious.
