Gooseneck Adaptor Blamed for Fiver Rollover

Video Link

The description in the video says the following

"2008 Dutchmen Denali fifth wheel trailer flip-over accident at Hwy 436 & Hwy 434 in Altamonte Springs, FL. The trailer leaned over in a left hand turn at an intersection, and the locking mechanism on the gooseneck adapter sheared off the rear of the ball. A deeper locking mechanism or a fifth wheel hitch would have prevented the flipover, as the lean would have been corrected by the truck's weight."

Is this rollover and damage possible from a gooseneck adaptor??? The brand is not mentioned and I tried to find a gooseneck adaptor that is square such as the one in the video and I am having trouble finding one.

Just wanted to share.

Thanks!

I tend to agree with you. Could the ball have been an underrated ball? I.E. A 10,000 lb 2 5/16 instead of a 30,000 lb ball?

    Thanks!

  • Dumb wrecker drivers like to do addition damage. Why did he not have another strap to set it on the landing gear softly? Most likely did a fair amount of additional damage when it landed on DS landing gear!!!! Chris
