Yeh, but what gvw was that g-neck trailer designed for? Not the most fair comparison I've ever seen! I'm not a g-neck adaptor advocate but those trailers are in different leagues. Well I can likely find out later today, but likely less that the 5er TH that had the GN adapter.
Heck the 10K GVWR 2 horse my daughter just got, is almost that stout.
Horse stuff seems to be built way better than RV all around, not just frames.
The horse trailer I didn't see today, but likely a 4 horse rated at 14,000 to 16,000. The 5er is a 38' Weekend Warrior TH triple axle likely 14,000 to 16,000.
Just and FYI this is the neck of my daughters 10,000 GVWR 2 horse slant. - SWDExplorerAnd the Reese Goosebox would solve all of these concerns?? Just asking.

There is plenty of proof to prove the frame breaks just reading in this forum alone .i have inspected tons of broken frames caused by goosers
There have been several broken frames on these forums but none have been from gooseneck adaptors except one lately. Your last sentence, "i have inspected tons of broken frames caused by goosed" tells me this is a total lie and I'll challenge you to provide only three documented cases. I used to design and build both gooseneck and bumper pull trailers for farm and commercial use.
There have been several pictures and reports of broken frames on these threads and LOTS of folks claiming gooseneck is all wrong but like I said the data isn't there to prove it so. I even posted several times a picture of mine with dimensions indicating that a gooseneck should put more stress on the frame, yet the data just isn't there to back it up while there are a number of us who use gooseneck and now Reese even make a gooseneck hitch to replace the fifth wheel hitch.
Like I posted in one other thread, I've studied the fifth wheel and I think I know why they have broken some pinbox mounts but can't prove it so will wait to state what I've come up with until I can.
No question, a gooseneck applies more stress to the frame. If the frame was designed to handle it, you could be fine. Check with the manufacturer if it's not clear.
As far as the picture with dimensions, the dimensions shown tell you next to nothing. You need to know the distance between the frame attachement point and the point of rotationin perpendicular to the force applied when braking and accelerating (braking is likely the cause of most problems). - SWDExplorer

and we are off! Grabbing chair, beer and some popcorn. This should be a gooder!:B
Yep! especially when one comes on immediately with a wild exaggeration or out right lie to prove he has the ultimate knowledge of the subject. Good thing I bought some ice cream yesterday as this is gonna be good.
Here let me give you this chair. I'll share my beer and popcorn if I can have some of your ice cream. - danojenoExplorer

- EndrickenExplorerMy Star Performance Kingpin (Gooseneck) adapter has worked fine since 07. Next door neighbor here in the RGV with a bigger newer Fiver has a Ranch Hand brand adapter on his Fiver. Only frame failures I'm personally aware of were with standard Hitches.
- ScottGNomadExcellent post Russ - that really tells us something!

Just look at any gooseneck trailer, all the extra metal for gusseting and bracing. You don't have this under the skin of a 5er.
Do you mean this type of bracing?
Or a leaver like this?
There are those that do it and have no issues, but I sure wouldn't do it.
Well not sure about the horse trailer, likely a 4 horse with a GVWR around 14,000, the 5et is a 38' triple axle TH at least 14,000# GVWR
