Ordered 2 new sets from GPI for my fuel station pump. Here is the reply I received from GPI. "Dear Mr. mrxlhThank you for your inquiry regarding the EZ-8RV light duty 12 volt petroleum pump. We only offer one gear kit for the EZ-8RV unit, however I think the confusion is we also offer a different gear kit for the EZ-8 which is a different pump.The gear kit for the EZ-8RV is 137500-12 and sells for $18.00 plus S&H."After reading several threads on the matter, I figured I would give back a little. They are grey-brownish color, not white. They are .750" wide and the major diameter is 1.630". The pitch diameter is .990". As a reference a person could measure them to determine if they needed to be lapped or some taken off the o.d., or needed replacement if the pitch dia. swelled too large causing tooth bind. Measurements were taken with a digital dial caliper.

I don't get it. What are they telling you. Did you happen to ask them why they still sell the pumps with the gears that swell endlessly. Even after changing them.

Is a manual for the fuel pump usually included with a new TH? Good luck fixing yours.

I have posted this before, the fix is bronze gears, and a post filter to catch any bronze from wear. That would cost you around $200 for a set one off, unless someone here has access to a gear hob and wants to make about 1000 sets.

I got a complete pump a couple years ago from them and it took a dump too. I sanded the gears and got it to work but I can tell the flow is reduced. Maybe I'll call and order a gear set for it and see how it works.

WOW! I called GPI about a year ago to buy a set of gears and they sent me a set no charge. I am very far out of warranty and told them so. Maybe it is luck of the draw on who you get..

This is excellent information. I'm right in the middle of doing this and they sent me the wrong gears, they were .90" thick, not .75" and the pitch was definitely different. I will forward this to the dealer I'm working with.

I was talking to a fellow from GPI at the AAPEX show a couple of weeks ago and apparently GPI is now on their 3rd and hopefully final iteration of gear materials. The problem GPI was having came from the constantly changing fuel formulations (not from alcohol). The new brownish gears are supposed to stand up to a very wide array of chemicals and they will still replace them at no charge. Ya just gotta ask.
