We purchased a new tandem-axle trailer and have almost no trailer braking due to grease inside the drum, even with the Prodigy P3 set to 12.0. We have Dexter Torflex #10 EZ-lube axles with 2.25" electric drum brakes, lot number 122896083. Both driver-side drums have significant seal leakage and grease spattered all over the inside. One of the passenger-side drums has minor seal leakage. I did not add any grease through the zerks and I was the first person to pull the drums.
The trailer manufacturer has been notified, claims they did not add grease, and has referred it to Dexter. This is a huge safety issue -- we'll see what happens.
Seems all 4 seals and brake shoes should be replaced. Should the magnets also?
