One thing I noticed when I went through my own leaking grease seals issues was the degreasers and brake cleaners out there today are almost useless. Due to EPA regs and such they do a piss poor job of cleaning soaked brake linings.
The best thing I did was go over to the etrailer web site and order 4 complete hub assemblies with HD self adjusting brakes included. The difference was night and day compared to the braking on supposedly "cleaned" grease soaked linings.
